Ed Keller is a designer, professor, writer, musician and multimedia artist. His career and projects span an incredible array of work: running one of the earliest CAD rendering firms in New York while still a graduate student; consulting with AI pioneers SingularityNET; teaching and running centers in media, technology and architecture at the most prestigious schools around the world; holding multiple creative directorships at the Venice Biennale and other renowned centers and conferences; co-founding Spec.AE, a speculative design practice, and AUM Studio, an architecture and new media firm; and so much more. Originally training as a composer and guitarist, Ed has always kept his connection with the instrument and with music. From performing and recording his own compositions to running projects and shows exploring the limits of guitar design, Ed's interdisciplinary approach has often involved the guitar as well as music culture. Unsurprisingly, our conversation covered a lot of ground, finding the links between architecture, futurism, guitar design, gen AI, sound design, philosophy and science fiction.
